Latimer Weekly Briefing: (16 New, 41 Active) 327 COVID-19 Positives in Rye; 1,490 Westchester Resident Deaths – Monday, November 16, 2020

For Monday, Westchester reported a 16 new COVID cases in Rye. Here are all the City of Rye numbers:
327 total COVID-19 cases since inception;
41 active COVID-19 cases (this assumes the remaining 286 have run the average two week contagion cycle and are no longer active);
16 new COVID-19 cases.
Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer held his weekly COVID-19 briefing on Monday from White Plains along with Deputy Boss Ken Jenkins. In regards to COVID he said it was “very concerning… clearly the second wave we are facing with COVID… the line is heading straight up.”
Latimer addressed Port Chester’s “Orange Zone” designation, then confirming “parts of that yellow zone [around Port Chester]… a very small portion went over into the City of Rye.”
With the pick-up in COVID, Latimer will be moving his COVID briefings to two times a week, Mondays and Thursdays. Next week, Thanksgiving week, the briefings will be on Monday and Wednesday.

Important to note expanded reporting now shows fatality data from all nursing homes in the State, including The Osborn in Rye.

Fatalities of Westchester residents: 1,490
Fatalities at Westchester nursing homes – The Osborn Home in Rye is reporting six (6) confirmed COVID-19 deaths and six (6) presumed COVID-19 deaths thru November 15th (that’s no new confirmed deaths since the prior update). There is no data from Rye Manor or Vienna Senior Housing.)

Numbers of persons tested: 967,509
Tested positive: 44,576
% Positive results: 4.6%
Persons tested today: 6,167
New positives today: 230
