In Memory: Virginia A. Callahan, Age 94
Virginia A Callahan of Rye, New York passed away on January 11, 2021. She was married to Joseph M Callahan who predeceased her in 2001. She is survived by her brother and sister in law George T and Joan M Beck of Ocean Ridge, Florida, five nieces and nephews Thomas Beck of Vienna ,Virginia., Mary O’Donnell of McLean, Virginia, James Beck of Milford, Michigan, Catherine Bergeron of Windham, New Hampshire and George Beck of Alexandria, Virginia.
Virginia was born October 30, 1926 in New York City and grew up in Upper Saddle River and Paterson, New Jersey. She was an executive secretary at Time Inc. in New York City and corporate secretary at the Japan Fund.
She was an active member at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye and past president of the Rye Women’s Club.
Burial will be private after a funeral mass at the Church of the Resurrection on Saturday January 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM. The Mass will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
