Only 31% of School Staff Has Received First Vaccine Dose

Only 31% of Rye school district faculty and staff have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a survey conducted by the district at the request of Westchester County.
“These numbers are not encouraging,” said schools boss Eric Byrne. “I am hopeful that the County is able to help us secure additional vaccination appointments for our teachers and staff.”
The district survey also found that:
- 59% of those who have scheduled appointments will receive their first shot after March 1st;
- 26% of respondents could not secure an appointment to be vaccinated.
The poll was conducted anonymously.
