In Memory – Patricia Alice Wright Charnley
Patricia Alice Wright Charnley Brown died on March 27, 2021 in Rye, NY. Mrs. Brown grew up in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Gail Hall and Charles Hugh Wright. She graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles. She served on the staff of then-Senator Richard Nixon in Washington, DC, as personal secretary to Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. when he was Ambassador to the United Nations, and as secretary to former President Nixon in New York in 1981.
Mrs. Brown was a resident of Bronxville and Mt. Vernon, NY for 50 years and was active in the Bronxville Junior League and the Bronxville Field Club. She served on the boards of the Mental Health Association, the Family Consultation Service, Daughters of the American Revolution, and other school and local organizations.
She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Gail Charnley Elliott and Dr. Susan Charnley; three stepchildren, Bailey W. Brown, Jr., Huntting W. Brown, and Deborah B. Procino; two grandsons, Orion and Galen Sequoya Charnley de Nevers, and six step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Louis E. Charnley, Jr., in 1969 and by a brother, Larry E. Wright. Her husband Bailey Warren Brown died in 2005. Services private. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to Planned Parenthood.
