Girls Varsity Track Places Second in League Meet
Rye Girls Varsity Indoor Track competed in the League Championship at the Armory Wednesday running second to Somers.
“Logan Brady broke the school record in the weight throw with a throw of 24’10”,” said Rye Girls Varsity Indoor Track Coach John McGee. “Cate Doyle won the 55 meters in a personal best time of 7.64. Logan Brady won the 55H and Sophia Bubeck placed 4th.”
Other highlights from the meet:
- Megan Coyne ran a personal best placing 2nd in the 300.
- Senior Lucy Adelson was 2nd in the 600 while Mine Kennely placed 4th in the 3000.
- The 800 relay of Cate Doyle, Teresa Garate, Megyn Coyne and Sophia Bubeck took 1st.
- The 2 mile relay team of Lucy Adelson, Chloe Nacson Schecter, Aine Kennely and Sophia Scuilli ran 2nd.
- In the field events Signe Olson was 1st in the high jump while Tess Dalto was 3rd.
- Blanca Navarro Bandeira and Signe Olsborg went 1-2 in the Long jump.
- Logan Brady was 3rd in both the shop and weight throw.
- In the triple jump Blanca Navarro Bandeira was 1st and Sofi Fu was 3rd.
