Endorses Catherine Parker For County Legislator
New York — The New York League of Conservation Voters, which works to make environmental sustainability a top political and policy priority in New York State, has announced its endorsement of Catherine Parker for the Westchester Board of Legislators in District 7.
Parker is currently a member of the Rye City Council, where she has sponsored and supported several pieces of critical environmental legislation including the banning on plastic bags, introducing hybrid vehicles to the Rye Police Department Fleets and purchasing recycling bins for recreational spaces and the business district. In addition to her various policy initiatives, Parker also oversaw the Central Business District Streetscape Planning Group, which was dedicated to formulating a comprehensive vision for the streets of downtown Rye.
“Catherine Parker has showcased her deep commitment to the environment during her successful tenure on the Rye City Council,” said NYLCV President Marcia Bystryn. “She has fought to make Rye a cleaner, greener place to live, and we expect the same high caliber of advocacy if she is elected to the Westchester County Legislature.”
“I am proud of the environmental initiatives that I have advanced while serving on the Rye City Council over the last six years,” Parker stated. “We were able to create the county’s first plastic bag ban, a leaf blower ban to improve air quality and reduce the amount of parkland used for parking cars at Rye Town Park. I look forward to partnering with the New York League of Conservation Voters to help facilitate those goals at the county level.”

The New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) was founded in 1989 as a nonpartisan, policy making and political action organization that works to make environmental protection a top priority with elected officials, decision makers, and voters by evaluating incumbent performance and endorsing and electing environmental leaders to office in New York State.
Kevin Plunkett is a former board member of this enviro group. After all the money Parker put in PLunkett’s pocket in Rye, of course his group would endorse Parker.
Parker’s list of accomplishments is a joke.
Hybrid vehicles at the Rye PD. Really? Where?
No plastic bags. Really? Who cares.
Street scape on Purchase Street. Really? This cost us 20 parking spots downtown you jack@ss.
Leaf blower ban. Really? I have 3 guys outside my neighbors house right now blowing leaves and it’s not even 8 o’clock yet you jack@ss. I guess those cops you haven’t given a raise to in 5 years don’t want to enforce the ban.
More park land at Rye Town Park. Who cares? Nobody goes there anymore you jack@ss. Maybe you can have the City of Rye sue the Town of Rye again which would be actually suing yourselves again you jack@ss.
Parker is not a productive and credible member of the Rye City Council. She definitely is not fit to move up. Otis wants her as a yes man and Plunkett wants her for more $$$$$ for himself and his lawyer buddies on the county level.

Machine Pol language ain’t gonna change facts (and frauds) perpetrated on her watch in Rye:
“RYE CITY TO SCHUBERT – IN THEIR OWN WORDS.”
(At about 6:15 minutes in – Parker: Schubert about to “sully” his reputation)

Catherine Parker has failed to protect the health and safety of the public for years. Here is a video of what Catherine Parker, Doug French and Scott Pickup has approved on Hen Island.
“Composting toilets, the right choice for Rye and Milton Harbor”.
