The Rye PD reported an attempted car theft on Coolidge Avenue Wednesday morning.

At 10:35am Wednesday, an unknown male dressed in all black attempted to steal a BMW car from a resident’s driveway. The subject was interrupted by an alert neighbor who yelled and chased the party away.

Rye PD reports the subjects came to Rye in Hyundai Santa Fe which was stolen this morning from Newark, New Jersey. Just Monday, the police department warned about the ongoing rash of car thefts in the City.
