Pride Flies Over Rye

 

Under threat of imminent rain, the City of Rye held its second annual Pride flag raising at Rye City Hall and Rye Recreation on Wednesday evening. Mayor Josh Cohn, other city council and elected officials, and pRYEde and community members watched at Rye City Manager Greg Usry hoisted the Pride flag onto the City Hall flag pole. There were no formal remarks.

The group of perhaps 40 people then walked or drove over to Rye Recreation where Usry deftly handled the second Pride flag raising as well. As if on queue, the rain started as the event was concluding and the assembled crowd dispersed.
