Officers were dispatched to CVS around 4:30pm for a larceny complaint where they arrested arrested Elaine Hall, 53 of Port Chester, NY and Romal Jarrett, 35 who claimed to be homeless, for Petit Larceny.

The PD worked with CVS loss-prevention. Hall and Jarrett took merchandise and concealed it, passing all points of purchase without paying. Items taken included Tide laundry detergent, Dove bubble bath and soap, Downy Unstoppables scent booster, Swiffer mopping cloths and a Libman broom. Apparently items like laundry detergent are sold to bodegas for resale.

Both parties were transported to RPD Headquarters for processing. Hall and Jarrett were issued appearance tickets returnable to Rye City court for July 12, 2022. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
