Dems Vote Tuesday in NY-16 Primary

Election Day - VoteIf you are a Democrat in Rye, polls are open Tuesday until 9pm to vote in the NY-16 primary.

Incumbent Jamaal Bowman, who took the seat two years ago from longtime Democrat Elliott Engel, is facing challenges from Rye resident and Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker as well as Westchester County Legislator Vedat Gashi.

According to Federal Elections Commission data on the NY-16 race, incumbent Bowman has raised $1,553,927.69. Vedat Gashi, who has endorsements from former Congressional reps Elliot Engel and Nita Lowey has raised $838,480.67 and Rye’s hometown candidate Catherine Parker has raised $374,011.68 (this includes a $139,000 loan from Parker herself to the campaign). Parker, as one might imagine, has lots of local Rye support. Mark Jaffe will be on the ballot but has dropped from the race.
