Girls Varsity Lacrosse Put in Saw Mill by Horace Greeley
Rye Girls Varsity Lacrosse was put in the saw mill by Horace Greeley last Tuesday, falling in the away game 12-13.
“We had a tough time finding the back of the net in the first half and showed some fatigue from playing our 5th game in 10 days vs Greeley,” said Rye Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach Michelle Mason. “In the final seconds of the first half, Chader made a huge save. We turned everything up to high gear in the second half, and cut the lead to just 1 after trailing 7-2 at halftime. Our defense was outstanding holding them to 6 goals in the second half, while our offense and draw team put the pieces together to score 10 in the second half. In our high pressure defense in the last 3min, we caused Greeley to drop the ball 3 times but couldn’t convert the 50-50 ball. We absolutely battled and showed our grit and toughness which will pay dividends as we progress through season.”
