Rye: A Poverty Free Zone

According to a report from the US Census Bureau, Rye City is the largest poverty free zone in the United States:

"Varying degrees of poverty can be found in most — but not all — communities across America.

The exceptions are 484 cities, villages, towns and census-designated places (CDPs) that have official poverty rates of 0.0 percent. (CDPs are unincorporated areas that are otherwise similar to cities.)

Most of these poverty-free zones are small. Only three of the 484 places have more than 10,000 residents. The largest is Rye, N.Y., with a population of 15,091."
