SPRYE’s Executive Director Lands Healthcare Hero Award

Marie Johnson, the executive director of SPRYE, a local organization serving older adults in Harrison, Port Chester, Rye and Rye Brook, was named one of 15 Healthcare Heroes by Westchester Magazine for 2024. The honorees were recently feted at a luncheon attended by several hundred people in Eastchester, NY.

Up to 120 Healthcare Heroes are nominated every year. Johnson, who has served as SPRYE’s executive director for six years, was commended for her personal connection working with SPRYE’s 100-plus members, all 55 and older.

Johnson does more than plan and supervise programs, rides, appointments, and visits for the membership. She is also a friend to every member, reminding, helping, and comforting those that need that extra, personal, friendly contact.
