NY State DEC to Talk Coyote 7pm Thursday Rye City Hall

A public forum will be held with the city council of the City of Rye on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the council room of City Hall.

There will be an update on coyote incidents and a presentation by Kevin Clarke of the New York State Department of
Environmental Conservation.

I sure hope we are not going to hear some version of what Mr. Connors and others here have been pedaling to date – as in – these animals are not generally a threat to humans, are basically cowards, it is not in their nature to be aggressive, are easily frightened off, are something we just have to get used to living with, cannot be effectively eradicated, cannot be rifle hunted safely or effectively, blah, blah, blah.

    If that’s what they are coming to sell then they should stay away from Rye. We’ve already got enough worthless assurances about each and every one of the above “scientifically supported” idioms to comfort our children with.

    Oh, and BTW, how’s the “assumed to be rabid” angle working out?
