Car vs. Telephone Pole Shuts Down Post Road

An accident early Saturday morning shut down the the southbound lane of the Boston Post Road near the intersection of Cedar Street, alongside the property of Rye Country Day School. The Boston Post Road southbound remained closed as of late Saturday afternoon.

Around 7am on Saturday, a 4-door 2020 GMC SUV hit a telephone pole and went through a fence. The 24 year old male driver was issued a cellphone summons (he was apparently on his phone and distracted) by Rye PD. The driver and the two passengers, a 26 year old male and 24 year old female, all refused medical attention. All three individuals are from Port Chester.
