A new firefighter recruit, Tyler Conway, was sworn into his new position at a Rye City Hall ceremony on Tuesday morning. His official join date was last Thursday, August 29th.

Conway, the son of Dan and Michelle Conway, is a lifelong resident of Rye . He graduated from Rye High School in 2012. From September 2014 through February 2019 he served in the United States Army. Part of the 75th Ranger Regiment, he was deployed to Afghanistan. In his time as an active serviceman, he worked as a member of a fireteam in hazardous situations. In his free time, Tyler enjoys hunting, fishing, blacksmithing, and weight lifting.

“Thank you for the opportunity – look forward to the future,” Tyler told the assembled crowd on Tuesday.

While Ryan Iarocci was officially elevated to Lieutenant this past Monday, he was unavailable for the Tuesday ceremony, as previously expected.  What kept him? He and his wife, Ninamarie, and daughter, Ryleigh, welcomed a baby girl.
