Garnets Football continued to soar in 2024, building another big lead and coasting to a comfortable Week 3 victory over Nyack High School. Rye led 26-0 at halftime and stretched the lead up to 39-7 before the Red Hawks added a garbage time score to make the final score 39-13. Rye’s defense and offense both continued to feast on their opponents – the Garnets have a +113 point differential since the second half of their Week 0 game and a +99 differential overall (an average win margin of almost 25).

“We had another fast start and total team effort, scoring 26 points in the first half and keeping the Red Hawks off the scoreboard,” Head Coach Dino Garr told MyRye.com after the game. “Key performances [include] Jake Kessner and Chris Iuliano on both offense and defense, outstanding team management on the offense by Carson Miller, and strong performance again by the offensive line and defensive line.”

Miller was, as per usual, very efficient in the passing game, rattling off chunk gain after chunk gain. Senior captain Chris Iuliano led the way on the ground, while the defense stifled the Red Hawks all night. It was another total team effort for the Garnets, who have had no problem filling in the personnel gaps graduating seniors in the class of 2024 left behind. “We continue to improve with each game,” Garr said.

Rye (4-0, 2-0) sets their sights on Clarkstown South next weekend as they look to win their fifth in a row to start the 2024 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00pm at Nugent Stadium against the Vikings – watch it here. Relive their latest victory over Nyack here.
