The Rye Varsity Field Hockey Team lost its second in a row and third of four games on Tuesday evening, dropping a 4-0 decision to the Lakeland Hornets. The Garnets struggled to get their offense going and surrendered goals against in the first, second, and fourth (2) quarters in the defeat.

“Rye girls hustled till the very end,” Assistant Coach Theresa Jelalain told MyRye.com after the game. “Lakeland was a very talented team, and we are looking forward to playing them again.”

The rematch is scheduled for Thursday, October 17, and Rye will host at Nugent Stadium. Between now and then, Rye (6-4) will have a chance to regather themselves amidst this midseason mire. Their next chance is a home tilt against Henry Hudson, the last new opponent for the Garnets this regular season, on Saturday, October 5. The game is set for under the Nugent lights at 6:30pm over the weekend. Watch it here. Watch the loss to Lakeland here.
