Girls Varsity Field Hockey Drained by Lakeland

With a single goal, Rye Girls Varsity Field Hockey was drained by Lakeland on Thursday. The Garnets came up short on a 0 – 1 loss. The evening was the team’s senior night and the pink game to support the fight against breast cancer.

“What a game!,” Assistant Coach Theresa Jelalian told MyRye.com after the game. “The girls came out on fire and didn’t not slow down until the final whistle! Everyone stepped up big and played their hearts out. Even though the game didn’t end in our favor, the girls should keep their heads up because of the grit and determination they showed every minute.”

The team is now 7 – 6 for the season. Watch the replay. Next up the Garnets travel to face Hendrick Hudson on Monday for a 5:00pm game start.
