Skydive by RHS ’94 Grad into Rye – Harrison Game Cancelled
The skydiving stunt planned for the Rye – Harrison football game kickoff Saturday afternoon, October 26, 2024 has been cancelled due to the high winds. RHS ’94 graduate and stuntman Jeff Provenzano, who was scheduled to make the jump and deliver the game ball to officials, sent good luck to Garnet football.
“As much as I wanted to skydive into the Rye Harrison Game today, I made the difficult decision to stand down due to the winds,” Provenzano told MyRye.com. “However, I’m still stoked to watch the game and cheer for my home team. Go Garnets! You got this!“
Provenzano skydived into the 2022 Rye – Harrison game, and just a couple weeks ago made a jump onto Playland Beach.
School boss Eric Byrne, who just announced he will be retiring at the end of the school year, thanked Provenzano: “Unfortunately, due to the high winds today, Jeff Provenzano is unable to make the jump into Nugent Stadium this afternoon. We were hopeful that the winds would die down a bit and make it safe for the jump, but it hasn’t happened. Many thanks to Jeff for making the arrangements for today. Let’s Go Garnets!”
