Rye Girls Varsity Cross Country MVP: Lily Oberbannscheidt
Rye Varsity Cross Country Head Coach Bryan Johnson named his two MVPs for the 2024 fall season, including Lily Oberbannscheidt on the girls side. Here’s what Johnson had to say about his impressive junior runner:
“Lily was our top runner each week on the girls side, medaling on a consistent basis and setting the standard for our team. In addition to working extremely hard in practice, Lily became a thoughtful and strategic runner over the course of the season. She was insightful regarding her training and race strategy, aspects which contributed to her success on the course this season.”
Oberbannscheidt consistently finished at a higher placement amongst her competition than any Rye runners on either side. She will look to build on her successful 2024 next year as a senior, where she will once again lead her team both on and off the race course.
