Rye Middle School Squash Wins 2025 FairWest League Cup

Rye Squash picked up its second FairWest League Cup of the 2025 season on Wednesday, March 12, as the middle school Garnets defeated Greenwich to win the championship. Carson Roberson (6th grade), Brooke Erickson (7th), Quinn Farr (7th), Ava Apostolatos (7th), and Sophie Ehrlich (8th) were the five athletes at the top of the depth chart who took down Greenwich after they got the better of Bronxville in the semi-finals.
The middle school team attended Nationals just like the high school varsity team, as the Rye Squash Club sent three teams to Philadelphia. The girls team finished ninth in Division 1 one year removed from a Division II championship. That placement earned them the #1-ranked public middle school girls squash team in the entire USA.
The top boys team finished 6th in Division II and their second team ended 3rd in Division III.
About Rye Squash Club for Middle School

Rye Squash Club for Middle School is a parent-run organization with a strong history. Boys and girls from 6th through 8th grade are invited to participate, and almost sixty students signed up for the 2024-25 season. Practices are held at The Apawamis Club, Westchester Country Club, and Lifetime Fitness, where students are trained by professionals at the respective clubs. Students are assigned to the beginner, development, or competitive team based on their US Squash rating and performance at tryouts.
“Middle School is a great time to try new things, and we’re delighted to be able to offer three distinct levels,” Club Manager Jen Crozier told MyRye.com. “From never-evers to nationally competitive players, there’s a place for you in the Rye Squash Club.”
