The Rye Girls Golf Team avenged their season-opening defeat traveled to Scarsdale with a close win against Edgemont on Wednesday, April 9. The Garnets played one stroke better in a 259-260 victory over the Panthers at Sunningdale Country Club.

“It was a closely contested match and Rye was able to win with just a one stroke advantage,” Head Coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com on Wednesday evening. “Myla Besceglia was the medalist for the match and Leila Kurbusi, Jessica Lafferty, Iciar Garate, and Laeticia Clauss all contributed for the win today.”

Biscgelia has now earned a top three finish in both of Rye’s two matches. The Garnets have been within four strokes of both opponents, putting pressure on every shot, in which the senior captain has thrived.
