Santa Claus enjoyed breakfast with over 800 people in Port Chester last weekend.

Rye residents were some of the volunteers that helped make the annual Breakfast with Santa a success on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Don Bosco Community Center in Port Chester. Two breakfast seatings in the gym accommodated the crowd and when no additional seating was available, another smaller group of families was welcomed afterward to visit Santa and receive a present.

In its 31st year, volunteers and benefactors joined families from nearby towns to create a welcoming celebration for those who might not otherwise be able to afford seasonal festivities. Rye’s Boy Scout Troop 2 and Troop 35 from Greenwich assisted families, while members of the Mid-Westchester Elks Lodge and local firefighters cooked and served breakfast. Port Chester Mayor Luis Marino also attended.

Children ranging in age from a few months old to 13 years lined up to meet Santa and received presents collected through toy drives organized by local churches, including Church of the Resurrection in Rye. Volunteers wrapped hundreds of items in advance to ensure every child was included.
