The internationally celebrated organist David Briggs (artist-in-residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, NYC) will perform a concert at Christ’s Church at 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, after accompanying the choirs earlier in the day during the 10 a.m. service (www.ccrye.org/briggs).

The afternoon concert will feature music by Liszt and Duruflé, as well as Briggs’s own transcriptions of orchestral works by Bach, Ravel and Tchaikovsky, and an improvisation on a chosen theme. Dancers from the Rye Ballet Conservatory will join Briggs to perform movements from The Nutcracker.

The Rye Women’s Interfaith Committee will host a reception in the parish hall afterwards and will collect non-perishable food items for its Thanksgiving food drive.
