Before conducting its annual Memorial Day ceremonies this Monday on the Village Green at 10am, Rye Post #128 of the American Legion will unveil a new deposit box for worn US flags at 9:45 on City Hall steps.
MyRye.com asked Tom Saunders of the American Legion about the deposit box: "It's actually an old mailbox that was given to us by the Post Office. It's been spectacularly refurbished through a team effort by Rye Brook Service Station, who provided a high-gloss, patriotic paint job and Rye Art Gallery and Framing who added silk-screen imaging and airbrushing. The finished product will reside in City Hall."
