We'll see if the war of words (and the actual "war") over Rye Playland continues… The Democratic controlled Westchester County BOL (Board of Legislators) has convened a press call for Thursday at 3pm. Leading up to the Astorino Playland recommendation this week, the Dems were vocally critical of the Astorino shroud of secrecy around the future of Playland.
MyRye.com was also told Rye City and specifically Rye Mayor Joe Sack was left out of the Astorino loop. Sack is also just now assessing all the news. Not a good idea to piss off the locals… we can get pretty ornery.
Here is what the Dems at the BOL sent out re the press call Thursday:
"Tomorrow afternoon at 3PM, Legislators Borgia, Harckham and Parker will be holding a conference call with members of the press to discuss the new agreement to operate Playland, the evaluation process going forward and the substance of the plan and other documents related to Playland."
