The Rye Youth Council, a local non-profit organization focused on supporting school-aged children and teens in Rye in their social-emotional development, is pleased to announce the appointment of Diane Rosenthal as its new Executive Director.

“After an extensive search, we are extremely happy to welcome Diane in this role,” says Lisa Dominici Faries, President of the Board of Directors. “We believe that her considerable experience in youth development, her fundraising skills, and her many years working in the non-profit sector will help take our organization to the next level.”

Most recently, Ms. Rosenthal was the Vice President of Development and Investor Relations at Career Resources, Inc., a workforce development organization in Bridgeport, CT. In her tenure with CRI she significantly increased revenue with a combination of federal, state and foundation grants, initiated new programs and expanded outreach efforts. Prior to joining CRI, Ms Rosenthal served as the executive director for the Fairfield/Westchester County Chapter of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, a global non-profit that provides entrepreneurship and career awareness education to students in under-resourced school districts. She is looking forward to this new challenge. "I am honored and excited to join the Rye Youth Council team. The commitment of everyone in this organization to ensuring that all young people in our community can fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams in a safe and nurturing environment is what makes it so special. I look forward to building on the Rye Youth Council's successful history of providing social and emotional learning opportunities for our youth and working with the team to create the next chapter of our history."

Ms. Rosenthal’s long list of credentials includes both professional and volunteer positions in the field of adult education and literacy. She also brings with her a history of strong relationships in Westchester County, where she has collaborated with community, business and government leaders. “This is exciting on a number of levels,” says Ms. Faries. “We are eager to explore the many different ways our organization can expand its reach and impact in partnership with others in the county. There are so many opportunities for growth.”

The Rye Youth Council is a grassroots non-profit organization that has been part of Rye for over 50 years. Its mission is to advocate for the children, teens and families in the community. The Rye Youth Council works to empower children and young people by helping them develop the tools they need to navigate the challenges of childhood and adolescence.
