Girls Varsity Tennis Grinds Down Bronxville 6-1 at Home

To help promote a Color Run the Varsity Girls Tennis team practiced in rainbow colors in preparation for this week’s matches.

Girls Varsity Tennis ground down Bronxville 6-1 at home Tuesday. The team rises to a 3-0 season.

“Sophomores Cassidy Pagen and Ryan Wade made their Varsity debut at doubles with a convincing 8-2 win,” said Girls Varsity Coach Anthony Campbell. “Juniors Charlotte Ausfahl and Morgan Delizia, who were undefeated as a doubles pair as freshmen, were reunited at first doubles and won 8-1. Senior captain Catharina Ausfahl remains undefeated at 1st singles with an 8-1 win in a much tougher match than the score represents.”

With the stop and start season from Covid quarantines, weather, and schools ‘on pause’, every afternoon that the girls get to play tennis seems like a bonus. The atmosphere at the matches is excellent. All of the girls on both sides are just happy to be out competing.
