Rye PD Announces Indictments for Local Burglaries

Rye PD burglary arrests October 2020

Friday afternoon the Rye PD announced indictments of three men from the Bronx for burglaries that took place in Rye during the summer of 2019. The charges detailed in the PD release indicated to burglaries took place on Ormond Place, Park Avenue and Hewlett Avenue.

The follow Rye PD statement follows:

On September 25, 2020, a Westchester County Grand Jury indicted Omar Shariff Willis, 29 years old, Latiek Frazer, 27, and Thomas Ricketts, 29, all three from the Bronx, for Burglary offenses related to three Burglaries committed in the City of Rye.

The Indictments came after a yearlong investigation conducted by the City of Rye Police. Rye Detectives recovered stolen property from various pawn shops in the Bronx, as well as during the execution of search warrants at the defendant’s apartments. A Porsche Cayenne stolen during one of the Burglaries was recovered by Rye Detectives in the Bronx.

Latiek Frazer was arraigned on dozens of charges today before Judge George E. Fufidio. Bail was set at $10,000 cash/$100,000 bond/$100,000 partially secured bond. Omar Willis and Thomas Ricketts failed to appear. Their arraignments were adjourned and are now scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19 in Westchester County Court. There are outstanding warrants for Willis and Ricketts.
