Rye Girls Varsity Swimming scarred Edgemont on Thursday, taking the win 92-78.
“Senior Lente Geelen and Junior Zoe Lien both pulled out double individual wins,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Kelly Johanson. “Lente won the 200 IM and the 100 back. Lente also qualified for Sectionals in both events. Zoe won the 50 and 100 free.”
Other highlights from the meet:
- The team of Lien, Goldberg, Tavitian, Geelen won the 400 free relay.
- Freshman Megan Tiedemann had a strong meet doing season best times in both of her events. She was 3rd in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 100 fly
- Freshman Charlize Tavitian was 2nd in the 200 free and 3rd in the 100 breast
- Freshman Kayla Lombardo was 3rd in the 100 free and 2nd in the 100 breast
The team’s record is now 3-3.
