Rye Boys Varsity Tennis put Eastchester in the hutch on Wednesday 5-2 at home.
“The match against Eastchester was competitive and there were exciting points,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “Second doubles won an exciting third set super tie-breaker after splitting sets 7-5, 5-7 (10-7) for the win.”
Second and third singles players had clean matches winning 6-1, 6-0 for Henry Groves and 6-0, 6-1 for Matthew Templeman. Second doubles played a close match splitting sets, 7-5 and 5-7 then pulling out a win in the third set super tiebreaker 10-7.
Rye is 1-1 for the season after their second match.
