MyRye.com is featuring varsity team MVPs from the spring 2022 sports season. The MVPs have been selected by each coach. A big MyRye.com congratulations to all the MVPs.

Rye Boys Varsity Lacrosse MVP is senior Johnny Hartzell.

“Johnny Hartzell has now won over 750 faceoffs in his career at Rye High School, which is a school record,” said Rye Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach Steve Lennon.

“Johnny is a true leader on our team, and is respected by all his teammates, coaches, and opponents. He is a master of his craft (faceoffs), and we would not have the success we have had without him. He has won 80% of the faceoffs he has taken this year, which creates an incredible advantage of possessions for our team. Johnny is for sure our most valuable player.”
