Pols have been passing through Rye on the way to the Democratic NY-16 Congressional primary on Tuesday.

Incumbent Jamaal Bowman, who took the seat two years ago from longtime Democrat Elliott Engel, is facing challenges from Rye resident and Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker as well as Westchester County Legislator Vedat Gashi.

Last Tuesday, which happened to be National Roller Coaster Day, Gashi was at Rye Playland for a ribbon cutting for the previously announced new ride Old Rye Motorbike Factory.

Perhaps the primary is enough of a roller coaster for Bowman. He opted for some art classes and flag football at the Rye Y summer camp.

Of course being a local resident, Parker is a regular at Rye events. She was out on Thursday, August 11th to show support for the Rye’sAbove Butterflies on the Village Green.
