Rye Varsity Field Hockey forded John Jay Cross River on Friday evening, taking the away game 2-1.
“JJCR is always a tough team to play,” said Rye Varsity Field Hockey Coach Kelly Vegliante. “Today we focused on our passing game and getting our passes off quicker and harder. This enabled us to get the ball up the field and into our circle. We scored our first goal in 35 seconds catching John Jay on their heals . We knew they were going to come back strong and they did. Our defense played tough and made some great clears. Our passing game gets better each game. We are taking one game at a time. We are looking forward to facing Harrison on Monday.”
The season improves to 2-1. The Garnets play Harrison at 4:30pm Monday – watch it.
