Rye Girls Varsity Tennis diced Pelham on Friday evening 4-3.
“As the pop music from the Pelham football game warmups blasted across the tennis courts the Rye girls staged a sweep of the doubles matches to win 4-3,” said Rye Girls Varsity Tennis Coach Tony Campbell. “Paloma Pepper and Ella Poole win their first Varsity match as a doubles pair 6-3, 6-0.”
For the second straight match the evening ended watching the doubles team of Hannah Cali and Sophia Karl survive a tiebreaker. This time to seal the team win. 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
The season is now 2-1. The Garnets play at Bronxville Monday 4:30pm.
