Rye Girls Varsity Golf competed in the final match of the season Monday. The match was somewhat of a tune-up for the Section One Girls’ Golf Tournament, which begins Thursday morning. Other competing teams included Ursuline and Harrison.
A total of five golfers from Rye took the course Monday afternoon.
“The purpose was to give some players one more match on the last day of regular play before the sectional tourney on Thursday morning,” said Rye Girls Varsity Golf Coach Rich Savage.
Myla Bisceglia was among the headliners for the Garnets. She chipped in on the ninth hole to finish with a score of 41. Emily Hirsch also had a strong showing, posting a 46. Laeticia Clauss finished with a 49, as well. Each of these girls has qualified for day one of the upcoming sectional tournament on Thursday at The Links at Union Vale in Lagrangeville.
“Rye had a very successful 2023 golf season,” Savage said.
