You needed windshield wipers for Friday night lights football. But that did not stop Rye Boys Varsity Football from swamping Lakeland at Nugent Stadium with a final score of 42 – 6. As predicted by the OG, it was a Garnet Rumble.
“The game was total team effort and rebound from last week’s tough loss,” said Rye Boys Varsity Football Coach Dino Garr. “Our offensive line did an outstanding job for our runners, allowing us to gain huge chunks of yardage in controlling the ballgame. Kudos to the defense for allowing only 6 points to a Lakeland team that had scored over 40 points the week before. Moving on to our next opponent, Nanuet High School at Rye on Thursday night.”
