The City of Rye Fire department welcomed its newest firefighter in a ceremony Tuesday morning at City Hall. Brandon Antolino was sworn in by Deputy City Clerk Kayla Garritano. The position opened after Firefighter Max Billington was promoted to Lieutenant in August.

“Brandon is the product of the City adding an additional fire lieutenant to the ranks which opened up a fire fighter spot and we are pleased to have Brandon Antolino fill that spot,” said Rye FD Captain John McDwyer. “Congratulations.”

Antolino is a lifelong resident of Harrison, attended Harrison schools and graduated from Harrison High School. Antolino worked with the FDNY EMS for three years prior to attending the Westchester Career Fire Academy. He then went to work for the Harrison Fire Department in September 2021.

Asked if his fellow firefighters were requiring allegiance to the Garnets, Antolino reported he has seen a lot of Garnet flags in the firehouse and that he will “cross that bridge when we get there.”

Welcome to Rye.
