RYE GARNETS HOMECOMING GUESTS OF THE BYRAM HILLS BOBCATS – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6 @ 7:30PM
It’s the fourteenth spat between the BYRAM HILLS BOBCATS (Armonk) and the Rye Garnets, who are almost perfect versus these felines, having usually tamed the tabbies. In all but one of the previous litterbox skirmishes the Garnets have left these cats licking their paws and skulking into the underbrush while the Garnet and Black scratching post read 12-1-0 (.923). Not since ’87 has the Navy and Red clawed out a win over Rye, and ’23 should be no exception.
The Byram Hills Athletic Department and football coaching staff looks strangely like a roster of “Rye Refugees Gone North” what with Athletic Director Rob Castagna, Head Football Coach Simon Berk and Assistant Coach Mike Bruno all having past or present association with RHS athletics. Do you think they think they can outcoach the Garnets what with their familiarity with Rye Coach Dino Garr and his playbook, even though at one time or another, these coaches were associated with Rye athletics? Don’t bet on it!
Be prepared for a 7:30PM kick-off and an elongated halftime as Friday’s contest is Homecoming for the cats. Plan to arrive early as parking will be at a premium.
