The Rye Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving team sunk the Flying Dutchmen of Tappan Zee in its first meet of the season. The Garnets took Friday’s home win 85 – 81.
“Rye-Blind Brook swim team had a great first swim meet,” said Rye Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving Coach Katie Konopka. “Rye 9th grader Nicholas Field won the diving competition and Finn Hansen placed second. Blind Brook swimmer George Papaioannou won the 200 IM. Tripp Redd won the 50 Free and 100 Free.”
The team starts with a 1 – 0 season. The Garnets face Mount Vernon – Tuckahoe at Mount Vernon High School on Tuesday at 4:30pm.
