Dredge-ful; Change Blowing & More: Rye City Council Agenda for Wednesday, September 14, 2022

The city council’s agenda for its meeting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 is out. The meeting will be held in-person at Rye City Hall.

Residents may email comments regarding the public hearing to: [email protected]. All comments must be received by 4:15 pm on the day of the meeting. The subject of the email should reference the hearing topic. Please include your name and address.

The meeting will also be aired on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 39. We’ll also see you on the Internet (live and archive).

The Council will convene at 5:30pm for Executive Session to discuss pending litigation, personnel matters and pending contracts.

Formal office hours of the Mayor and other officials have been suspended.

  • Rain, Rain Go Away. Flooding Update
  • United? Bedrock Presentation
  • A Sea of Blue. Presentation by Public Safety Commissioner, Mike Kopy, with an Emergency Preparedness and Response update 1-year post Ida.
  • Dredge-ful. Consideration of Boat Basin dredging matters.
  • Change Blowing. Continue the public hearing to create a new local law, Chapter 122, “Landscapers and Leaf Blower Regulations”.
  • Open Mic. Residents may be heard on matters for Council consideration that do not appear on the agenda.
  • Positive Yutes. Authorization for City Manager to enter into an Inter-municipal Agreement with Westchester County to provide a Positive Youth Development Program for 2022 (Rye Youth Council).
  • Not Boring. Consideration of a 4-month extension of the moratorium in the City of Rye temporarily limiting the approval of any new mechanical rock removal, drilling or boring application to fifteen (15) calendar days and prohibiting the review, processing or approval of any blasting applications for the duration of this moratorium.
  • Green. Resolution expressing the City’s support for Rye Sustainability Committee’s (RSC) campaign seeking to earn credit for the Community Campaigns High-Impact Action under NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Communities Program, specifically Electric Vehicles.
  • 500 Channels & Nothing On. Resolution to accept 13 Smart TV’s, valued at $32,500 from RCDS for use by the City in various City buildings. Roll Call.

CONSENT AGENDA

  • Run! Consideration of a request by the Rye YMCA to use City streets for the 35th Annual Rye Derby on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Kiss! Consideration of a request from the Rye Chamber of Commerce for use of Purchase Street from the Village Green to Purdy on Sunday, November 27, 2022 for the Mistletoe Magic event.
  • Donate! Consideration of a request by the Sole Ryeders & Friends and the Rye High School Breast Cancer Awareness Club to have a TieTheTownPink breast cancer awareness campaign in the City of Rye during the month of October, 2022.
  • Patronage. Appointments to Boards and Commissions by the Mayor with Council approval.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 6:30pm.
