Mr. Floatie and Your Child’s Birthday Party

Mr. Floatie – the mascot of Ray Tartaglione's HealtheHarbor.com - is at it again.

Mr. Floatie the eight foot turd and his owner Mr. Tartaglione have released a video "On The Waterfront." The video features footage of Rye Mayor Steve Otis, Westchester County Deputy Health Commissioner Leonard Meyerson, Mr. Floatie and two of Mr. Floatie's women friends.

Shot on location at Hen Island and the Rye boat basin, Mr. Floatie sings the "Mr. Floatieman Song" about Hen Island (see the complete lyrics below) at the opening. Hethen discusses–complete with bathroom humor–Hen Island's woes with his two women friends, played by CW Post student Lisa Evangelista and Westchester Community College student Krystle Robibero.

In the announcement from Heal the Harbor, Tartaglione's group, there is a standing offer for Mr. Floatie to appear "at special events or private parties where he is sure to make a splash and bring a touch of humor, fun and intrigue to hosts and guests alike."

With the market collapse, perhaps instead of hiring Sponge Bob for your kid's next birthday party, you might invite Mr. Floatie to make a free appearance and bring some toilet humor with him.

Enjoy the video (don't forget the lyrics are below so you can sing along):

“MR. FLOATIEMAN SONG”

WELL, I’M THE TYPE OF GUY WHO LIKES TO FLOAT AROUND
I START OFF AT HEN ISLAND THEN I FLOAT FROM TOWN TO TOWN.
I’M STINKY, BROWN AND SICK’NING AND TO ME IT’S ALL A GAME
I SLIP RIGHT OUTTA MY SEWAGE PIT — YOU SHOULD KNOW MY NAME –

THEY CALL ME THE FLOATY MAN
MISTER FLOATY MAN
I FLOAT AROUND, AROUND, AROUND, AROUND.

WELL, GREENHAVEN’S ON MY LEFT SIDE, MILTON POINT IS ON MY RIGHT.
PLAYLAND PARK AND RYE BEACH, WELL – I’LL BE THERE TONIGHT.
I’M ISLAND FECAL MATTER, WHEN YOU SWIM OR SPLASH AROUND
A MORE DISGUSTING PIECE OF stuff  NEVER WILL BE FOUND –

CAUSE I’M THE FLOATY MAN
MISTER FLOATY MAN
I FLOAT AROUND, AROUND, AROUND, AROUND.

OFFICIALS HAVEN’T DONE A THING
TO GET HEN ISLAND TO COMPLY
MISTER FLOATY WE MUST SING
OR ELSE HERE’S A LOAD OF stuff IN YOUR EYE!

SO, GET USED TO MISTER FLOATY AS HE SWIMS ALONG WITH YOU.
UNLESS THEY STOP POLLUTING HE WILL JOIN YOUR BOATING CREW!
TELL THE TOWN AND COUNTY THAT YOU’RE SICK OF THEIR DELAY –
YOU’D LIKE TO HEAL THE HARBOR SO THAT YOU CAN GO AND PLAY –

ALL THANKS TO FLOATY MAN
MISTER FLOATY MAN
HE FLOATS AROUND, AROUND, AROUND, AROUND…

THANKS TO FLOATY MAN
MISTER FLOATY MAN
HE FLOATS AROUND, AROUND, AROUND, AROUND…

  1. Mayor Otis lists the following as his accomplishments on the City of Rye website:
Acquired three important parkland parcels to reduce flooding, preserve open space, restore wetlands, enhance historic preservation, improve recreation, and improve Long Island Sound water quality. These parcels include the Rye Nursery property and Rye Meeting House property, both on Milton Road. Combined efforts with the Town of Harrison in successfully advancing the Beaver Swamp Brook Restoration Project at the border of the two communities which includes wetland restoration, flood control, and environmental clean-up. Steve initiated passage of Rye’s Wetland’s Law, co-authored the Rye Environmental Guide, and was a recipient of the Edith G. Read Conservation Award in 1991. While on the Conservation Commission, Steve was active on many local land use issues. Before becoming Mayor Steve served as Vice Chair of the Westchester County Environmental Management Council. He continues as a Member of the Board of Directors of the NYS Association of Conservation Commissions.

“What a differance a day makes.”

  2. Otis also lists this as an accomplishment on the Rye website:

Steve has advocated public participation, open government, and careful planning in the City decision-making.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Steve has been involved in coverups and has allowed Rye government to crash and burn with his no accountability approach.

It is time to get rid of Otis.
