Frankie & Johnnie’s: 10 Years in Rye but 80 Years of History
Jennifer Mylonas runs Frankie & Johnnie's, the well know steak house at 77 Purchase Street in Rye. The restaurant opened its doors in Rye in 1999. But its original location on West 45th street in Manhattan, opened as a speakeasy in 1926. The New York Times had a nice write-up recently after F&J's New York City location was granted a new lease on life after a threatened closure.
A 2005 review in the New York Times gave the Purchase Street meat mecca a "very good".

Great, but pricey. For the rare occasions where you’re set on grilled liver & onions, it’s not to be beat…at any price!
