Rye Schools Bring Charge Against Milton Teacher in Testing Mess

The Rye school district has brought charges against a fourth teacher, Dana Coppola, a third grade teacher and Milton:

"The Rye school district has brought disciplinary charges against one of four teachers it placed on administrative leave last year following allegations of improper coaching, documents obtained by The Journal News show.

Dana Coppola, a third-grade Milton Elementary School teacher who sued the district last week, has been suspended with pay pending a disciplinary hearing that could result in her dismissal.

The tenured teacher is charged with 10 counts of "misconduct and neglect of duty" in 2013 and 2011, the documents show. She was notified Thursday….

Last week, Coppola joined Osborn Elementary School teacher Carin Mehler's March lawsuit. The teachers are suing the district for $4 million, $1 million each in compensatory and punitive damages."
