“The Derivatives” band” will be performing a concert at Rye Town Park as part of the park’s Twilight Summer concert series.

In finance, a derivative is a contract that derives its value from the performance of an underlying entity. Our “derivatives” may be performing songs made famous by other bands, but they delight audiences with their own personal interpretations of pop songs from the 60’s up through to the present.

The concert will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at the park’s south pavilion, located by the beach near the Dearborn Avenue entrance to the park. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. Admission is free, and normal parking rates apply. Nearby residents are encouraged to walk.

All concerts will be held rain or shine, except in case of thunderstorms. Picnicking is welcome. Some chairs will be available, but people are encouraged to bring blankets or beach chairs. Takeout food is available at the nearby food truck.

This is the sixth of seven free concerts that will be held on Tuesdays from June through early August. Major support comes from Carpet Trends of Rye. Significant support comes from Rye Rotary. Other sponsors are Morgan’s Restaurant and Rye Beach Pharmacy. For info call 967-0965.
