Rye PD Pulls Woman from Suicide Attempt on I-95 Overpass
Rye PD pulled a "distraught" and "emotional" woman to safety after she had positioned herself to jump into oncoming traffic from the Rye Playland Parkway Interstate 95 overpass.
Here is the Rye PD statement:
"The City of Rye Police Department would like to recognize officers James Foti and Keith Parker for their quick thinking and decisive actions that saved the life of a distraught female.
On (Wednesday, September 19, 2018) at 1:48 am a 50 year old female stopped her vehicle on the Playland Parkway overpass over I-95 southbound. The emotional woman climbed the Jersey barricade and positioned herself to jump into oncoming traffic.

While PO Parker distracted her with conversation PO Foti grabbed her from behind and dragged her over the barricade stopping her from jumping. The woman was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The department is proud of the actions of our officers during this highly intense and emotional situation."
