Girls Varsity Swimming Swamps Fox Lane
Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving swamped Fox Lane at home 99-73. The team ends regular season play sixth in the conference out of ten teams with a 3-5 record.
“We had three girls win both of their individual events last night which was great,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving Coach Kelly Johanson. “Senior Ellie Mackle won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. Ellie was able to drop two seconds in her 100 breaststroke and has qualified for Sectionals next week. Junior Lente Geelen won the 100 fly and 500 free. Sophomore Zoe Lien won the 200 free and 100 free.”
Senior Caitlin Bedell was 2nd in the 200 IM and won the 100 back. We dropped over three seconds and won the 200 medley relay (Geelen, Mackle, Lien, Bedell). Divers Mia Waldman and Jolie Pineault placed 1st and 2nd.
“Last night was our last dual meet and our senior day. I’d like to congratulate Caitlin Bedell, Sally Eggers, Ellie Mackle, Julie Tiedemann and Katie Victory,” said Coach Johanson.
