In its season opener, Rye Boys Varsity Soccer blanked the Pearl River Pirates Saturday. “Henry Field scored in the 68th minute on a left-footed shot from the top of the box and the team held on for a great opening day win in the featured match of the Westchester-Rockland Challenge,” said Varsity Coach Jared Small.

The fans were out in full force for the home side Pearl River and the Garnets varsity girls soccer team brought great energy. The Garnets dominated possession but were unable to convert a handful of quality scoring chances before Field found the game winner. Ryan Wyckoff stood out for possession and tenacity in the midfield and Philip Hovers provided a solid presence as goalkeeper.

You can watch the game replay. The team is scheduled to play Mamaroneck next Saturday at 3pm.
