The Westchester District Attorney’s Office is conducting inquiries into Rye priest David Barton, and is asking victims or others with information to call their office. Allegations against Barton came to light last week.

The DA indicated the subject of the referral – the two current allegations of misconduct – does not involve Westchester County. Father David Barton is the Parochial Vicar at the Church of the Resurrection.

Here is the full statement from Westchester DA Mimi Rocah:

Westchester District Attorney

“Complaints against David Barton, who worked as a priest at a local parish, have been referred to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office by the Archdiocese. At this point, the information that was the subject of the referral does not involve Westchester County. However, in light of the seriousness of the allegations, we are conducting inquiries and strongly encouraging any other victims in Westchester or anyone with information to please call our office at 914-995-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.”
